Frazier Community Center
The Frazier Community Center was a building that was built for the Black people of Macon County by the National Youth Administration (NYA) in the 1930s. Wade Blye, a teenager at the time, built the chimney. The logs came from Nantahala. It was named for the man who donated the property, Mr. W.W. Frazier of Philadelphia.
Unfortunately, the center burned down a few years after it was built. According to Emma England, newspapers for recycling were stored there and they believed that boys smoking started the fire. 1
